3. E-commerce
The goal of most websites is to make money. One of the best ways to do that online is by making your own online store or through E-commerce. If you have something to sell already; a physical or digital product, Squarespace makes it easy to sell it online. There’s no need to install extra plugins or pay for separate subscriptions, Squarespace does it all.

4. Scalable hosting
For most people just launching their website any hosting service will work for small online traffic numbers. However, as your business and following grow you’ll need more capacity to handle the additional traffic. Squarespace offers scalable hosting and grows with your website.

What we don’t like.

1. Monthly subscription
I’m not the biggest fan of subscription based services. However, Squarespace is a great option for anyone launching a website. It costs $12/month and that includes everything – hosting service, domain cost.. If you don’t want to pay for this subscription service. Another option (warning it’s not as easy) is to use a hosting service like Bluehost. Here you can buy your domain, host your site, and use WordPress to launch your site. This is a cheaper way to get started (roughly $4-$6/month) but it’s also a lot more technical to get started. Additionally, if you want to expand to e-commerce, you’ll have to either pay another subscription service or be knowledgeable about some back-end programming.

Full transparency we used Bluehost and WordPress to launch our website. This was ~5 years ago before Squarespace was even launched. If we did it again we’d probably go with Squarespace because it’s so easy to use. It took us weeks to get our site launched using Bluehost, a theme called Avada, and WordPress. While this saved us some money, it would have been much easier using Squarespace.
