Wellington is the capital of the great country of New Zealand. Set on the south shores of the North Island, this seaside city is filled with a lively central business district, plenty of history, and lots of luxury. During our time in Wellington, we were lucky enough to stay at the only 5-star boutique hotel in all of Wellington New Zealand, Ohtel.

This 5-star boutique hotel pays close attention to its customers. With only 10 rooms in this luxury accommodation, you can rest assured that your every need is catered to. The best part is that when we walked into Ohtel, we felt at home. We weren’t lost in the cacophony of a large corporate hotel. Staying at Ohtel made us feel like we were part of the community.

The rooms at Ohtel are palatial suites, outfitted for a king. Our penthouse room had sweeping views of Wellington as well as the harbor. We had a workspace, lounge space, king sized bed, kitchenette, and enormous bathroom! The deck was my absolute favorite. If I could have slept there, I would have! In the daytime, you’re greeted with warm sunlight and the energy of the city of Wellington. By night, you can star gaze, watch boats sail into the harbor, and watch Air New Zealand airplanes fly across the moonlit sky.

Overall, our stay at Ohtel was luxurious, restful, and peaceful. While we only stayed one night, we will definitely be going back on our next trip to Wellington New Zealand.
