Buena Park is the most family friendly destination in Southern California. Known as “SoCal’s fun city,” Buena Park is home to some of the best entertainment and restaurants in the west. Located just 30 minutes from Los Angeles and 20 minutes from Orange County Airport (SNA), Buena Park is easily accessible from just about anywhere in the United States – and especially convenient to SoCal locals.

Having lived in Los Angeles for 10+ years, we were very familiar with Buena Park and had visited many times before as a couple, but this was our first time visiting as a family. We’ve always loved visiting the area, but we have an entirely new respect for the area while visiting as a family because of their endless family-friendly options. Buena Park is the most family friendly destination in California and here is why!

Where to Play in Buena Park

Buena Park is known as California’s Playground. As the home to Knott’s Berry Farm theme park, it’s the epicenter of entertainment min SoCal.

  • Knott’s Berry Farm: Knott’s Berry Farm is the best theme park in California. This was our fourth time to Knott’s and Scotland’s first time. It is truly a theme park for all ages! There are four themed areas plus, lots of heart pumping rides, activities for kids of all ages, and great restaurants. During the fall season, Knott’s Berry Farm transforms into Knott’s Scary Farm for selected nights, when it transforms into a spooky theme park.
  • PlayPie: This amazing indoor playground, located at The Source, has over 12,000 square feet of fun for the kiddos. There is a digital and interactive aquarium, plenty of games and books, and lots of playgrounds for kids of all ages to explore.
  • Ralph B. Clark Regional Park: Buena Park is all about all-year round outdoor adventures. Head to Ralph. B Clark Regional Park to enjoy hiking trails, tennis courts, fishing, and multiple playgrounds!
  • Knott’s Soak City: Open mid-May to mid-September, Knott’s Soak City is Knott’s Berry Farm’s waterpark. There’s a lazy river, a wave pool, and plenty of interactive fun.
